|The Weeping Of The Skulls
the complaint choir of the night rolled in slow, singing in the background. the stars receded, the darkness darkened even more. stillness grew. we were awake. alone. still.
whispers of the laughter of the crazed echoed dimly. we never knew we were hearing it, each to their own thoughts in the pleroma as the world became what it is...
...and such small freedom of thought that the night gave was all that was left us. the roiling cacaphony of humanity boils even greater, as even the seas themselves rise. what we add, i add to, here, but the coins of time and attention have all been long paid out.
we stare at each other with blank sockets as the choir sings on.

Ordeal Upon Ordeal
Pneumonia. From black mold at Jimmy's.
I have prescriptions needing to be filled out somehow. Meanwhile, breathing is short and labored. The hospital stay 2 nights ago was helpful but hard. I'm down to 128 pounds,
My friend Michael dropped me off at City Rescue Mission night before last. At noon yesterday I decided it wasn't a tenable choice for me (7 days was all they were going to give me anyway), so I walked out. I walked here, to Candle Lake Senior Center, where I have friends. Management here is strict, and I've already previously stretched my guest privileges here as far as I could, so this is a dicey move and temporary -like 3 days temporary...
The walk took 8 hours and everything I had. No sleep since friday and no food and little water.
Candle Lake Senior Center is located at 3540 NW 56 st, near Deaconess Hospital. City Rescue Mission is downtown OKC. I kept messing up and going the wrong way, lots of wasted miles; I crossed the river twice, for example. It seems I'd walked 40+ miles.
I haven't had any desire for a cigarette since last week. Going without, I haven't had withdrawal symptoms at all. I can't explain it and I don't understand it, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Being unable to breath probably has a lot to do with it...
